Medical Careers

Rochelle Manion

Rochelle isn't just teaching Medical Careers — she once sat in these very seats. A former ROP student herself, she earned her CNA certificate back in 1996 and went on to build over a decade of hands-on patient care experience before returning to ROP in 2018 to give back. She holds an Associate in Science degree from Shasta College and a Medical Careers credential from the San Diego County Office of Education. Rochelle has worn many hats here — starting as a Vocational Technician and now leading Patient Care instruction — and she's especially excited to get students back into real healthcare facilities for hands-on externships this year.

Administration of Justice

Peggy Porter

Peggy traded a 19-year law enforcement career for the classroom, and students are the ones who benefit. She served as a police officer with the Salinas Police Department before spending 17 years protecting the Redding community, where she trained fellow officers on the Defensive Tactics Team, worked Traffic Resource and School Resource assignments, and spent over 15 years as a Crime Scene Investigator with the ID Tech Team. She holds a BA in Sociology (Criminology & Family concentration) and a BS in Criminal Justice Administration from San Jose State University. Now retired from the force, Peggy brings real investigative and law-enforcement experience straight into the Administration of Justice classroom.

Child Psychology & Careers with Children

Kali Herman

Kali's path to ROP started in the preschool classroom, where she spent years working directly with young children before joining ROP in 2017. She holds a BS in Liberal Studies from CSU East Bay and a CTE Teaching Credential in Education, Child Development & Family Services from UC San Diego. Since arriving, Kali has continued to strengthen and refine the program's curriculum, quickly becoming a standout addition to the ROP teaching team.

CISCO & A+

Raimund Schulze

Raimund has spent over 20 years at the intersection of technology and leadership — first spearheading tech infrastructure in higher education for a decade, then consulting, then building and running his own technology company for 12 years before selling it to become a full-time educator. He holds a BA from Simpson University and an MBA from National University. Raimund brings real business and IT-industry experience into every lesson, preparing students not just to use technology, but to understand and manage it — including a growing focus on cybersecurity.

Firefighter Training & Public Safety

Nick Sperou

Nick knows exactly what it's like to sit where his students sit — he came up through a program just like ROP in high school before going on to work seasons with Cal Fire. He's spent the past 6 years with Shasta County Fire and still runs calls with Bella Vista Fire Department. Nick holds an Associate in Arts from Shasta College and a Public Safety credential from the San Diego County Office of Education, and he's a certified EMT as well as a State Fire Marshal, CSTI, and ESCI instructor. After four years teaching at Shasta College, Nick is bringing his frontline experience straight to ROP to train the next generation of first responders.
